Accelerating XR Innovation through a pan-European Lab Network
An overview of the EMIL project

European Media and Immersion Lab, or EMIL, is a pan-European network of extended reality (XR) labs consisting of 4 European academic institutions, with a mission to accelerate development of virtual, augmented andmixedrealitytechnologies, content, services and applications. The 30-month project, which started in September 2022, has been funded by the European Union and co-funded by Innovate UK. This paper gives an overview of the project’s goals, its organization, and selected results that have been achieved.
